SAT

Digital SAT prep guide: adaptive format, scoring and a weekly routine

The shorter digital SAT is section-adaptive, so first-module accuracy, targeted review and screen-based pacing matter.

Digital structure

Reading and Writing and Math each contain two modules. The first module determines the difficulty of the second.

Scoring and targets

Each section is 200–800. Set a goal from your colleges' middle 50% and work backward from the gap.

Pacing strategy

Protect first-module accuracy, flag costly questions, and use the built-in calculator deliberately.

How we help

A diagnostic estimates your starting score; adaptive practice, spaced review and the AI tutor then target weak categories.

Prep timeline: what to do when

  1. 6 months out

    Diagnostic and repair

Rebuild algebra and grammar before speed work.

  2. 4–5 months out

    Category practice

Study one Reading and Writing category and one Math domain at a time.

  3. 2–3 months out

    Timed modules

Complete mixed timed sets while protecting module-one accuracy.

  4. Final 6 weeks

    Full tests

Take weekly digital practice tests and repair the exact categories missed.

A sample study week

TuesdayReading or language drill with full review
WednesdayTimed math set
ThursdayGrammar and vocabulary practice
FridayMixed 50-question set
SaturdayFull or half-length mock

Reviewing a practice test properly should take about as long as taking it.

Worked examples: how the questions are solved

Math · linear systems

If 3x + 2y = 19 and x − y = 2, find x.

Answer: 4.6

Substitute x = y + 2, solve for y = 2.6, then x = 4.6.

Common trap: Check which variable the question asks for.

Reading · evidence

Which finding best supports a claim that warmer winters caused a moth's range to move north?

Answer: A region without warming also showed no range shift.

A comparison where the proposed cause is absent strengthens the causal link.

Common trap: Related facts are not necessarily evidence for causation.
